Whitesnake is a British hard rock band formed in 1978 by former Deep Purple singer David Coverdale.
Initially, the band continued Deep Purple's mid-1970s blues rock through the mid-1980s.
At the end of the 1980s, the rock group swam with the wave of glam rock and hair metal through changes in image and sound.
