Slipknot's origins lie in the Basement Sessions from 1992, which were recorded in Paul Gray's basement. The singer at the time was Anders Colsefni (real name Andrew Rouw), a co-founder of the band, who later left and founded the band 'Painface'. A part of the songs on the later demo album Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. from 1996 can be heard. This album, limited to only 1000 copies, aroused the interest of several major music labels. In 1999 her debut album "Slipknot" was released under Roadrunner Records. Although the band's harsh, aggressive sound resulted in poor coverage on radio and music television, the album sold very well. Due to their spectacular appearance on stage, the band quickly grew into a large fan base.
