Originally founded as a cover band by school friends Matt Drake and Ben Carter, they asked Matt's brother Ol to fill the position on lead guitar shortly thereafter. After a quick search for a bass player, Mike Alexander called them and the line-up was complete.
After the band recorded two self-released EPs All Hallows Eve and Hell, completed a small tour in Europe in 2006 and supported Exodus, Evile was signed by Earache Records. They recorded their debut album Enter the Grave at Sweet Silence Studio in Copenhagen with producer Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica, Morbid Angel, Blind Guardian).
