Disturbed is an American metal band from Chicago, Illinois.

It was founded in 1994 and is now mostly assigned to the genres of hard rock and heavy metal. In earlier years the genre Nu Metal was often mentioned. Disturbed are signed to Reprise Records.

The band consists of singer David Draiman, guitarist / keyboardist Dan Donegan, bassist John Moyer and drummer Mike Wengren. Donegan and Wengren have been involved since the band was founded. Draiman replaced the original singer Erich Awalt in 1996, while Moyer joined the band in 2005 for former bassist Steve Kmak.

By March 2020, the band had sold more than 17 million records worldwide; five of their seven studio albums reached number one on the US album charts. Disturbed was nominated twice for a Grammy and once for an Echo.
